Voters have to make it to the various polling places by closing time on Tuesday to cast early ballots for the May 11 election.
The crowded Athens Independent School District Board of Trustees election had drawn 355 early votes by the close of business on Friday. Those votes are being cast at the District Support Center at 104 Hawn St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Voters in the elections to decide whether to create Henderson County Emergency Services Districts No. 6 and No. 8 can cast ballots at the Chandler Community Center at 811 Highway 31 East or the Henderson County Election Center at 201 E. Larkin St. in Athens. The ballot boxes close at 5 p.m.
Voters in the Westside Volunteer Fire Department area near Lake Palestine will decide whether to create ESD No. 6. The territory served by the Murchison Volunteer Fire Department will cast ballots on whether to launch ESD 8. A total of 30 voters had voted in the two elections through Friday.
Murchison is also holding an election for the sale of all alcoholic beverages. Polls are open until 7 p.m. at City Hall, located at 9540 Farm-to-Market Road 773.
Gun Barrel City voters who wish to weigh in on propositions concerning the city charter can cast early ballots until 5 p.m. at City Hall at 1716 W. Main St.
Election Day voting will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
