BROWNSBORO — Brownsboro head football coach and athletic director Ty Thomison has been placed on administrative leave, BISD Superintendent Dr. Chris Moran confirmed Tuesday.
Moran said he could not go into specific details regarding Thomison being placed on leave.
George Losack has been named interim athletic director in Thomison’s place. Moran said district officials are “considering all options for leadership of the athletic program and will make the appropriate decisions at the appropriate time.
“In the meantime, we are thankful to have Mr. Losack’s experience and willingness to serve the students and staff during this time,” Moran said.
Losack has 37 years of experience in education, including service as head football coach and athletic coordinator at both A&M Consolidated and San Marcos high schools. He has served as an assistant principal for Brownsboro High School for eight years.
Thomison is a BHS graduate who was an assistant football coach in the district for 15 years.
He also served as head baseball coach before becoming head coach of the Bears when John Settle left for Sunnyvale in 2011.
Thomison’s team was 1-9 in his first year as head coach, but improved to 5-5 in 2012 and came within a win of making the playoffs.
