First State Bank Athens President Jess Laird has announced the promotions of Kim Hodges to the position of Vice President - Marketing and Kourtney Gillert to the position of Assistant Vice President – Loan Operations.
Hodges joined the bank in 2000. She served five years as a loan secretary, in 2005 was named loan operations manager and assistant vice president, then in 2007 became the bank’s marketing officer.
“Kim is perfectly suited to head marketing for First State Bank,” related Dan Dwelle, senior vice president. “She is an important part of the organizations that shape this community. As a three-time Athens Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year, a former chamber board member, and a current board member for the Henderson County Child Welfare, the East Texas Crisis Center and the Salvation Army, Kim is broadly involved.” In 2013 Hodges headed the successful drive to raise $236,000 to build the Splash Pad at Kiwanis Park. She is a 2013 graduate of the American Bankers Association School of Bank Marketing & Management.
Gillert joined First State Bank in July 2002 as a teller at the Malakoff Branch. In 2005 she transferred to the Downtown Branch where she was a loan processor, then in 2009 assumed the additional duties of loan operations coordinator. In 2013 Gillert was named Loan Operations Manager and Credit Department Supervisor.
“Kourtney has always been one to take on new challenges,” said Steve Moore, executive vice president. “She has shown the ability to work one-on-one with customers, and also manage bank personnel. Her knowledge, leadership, and dedication will be instrumental to the continued growth of First State Bank loan operations.”
Gillert has an associate’s degree in Applied Arts and Science from TVCC. She was a member of the college’s first women’s basketball national championship team and subsequently played at University of Texas – Pan American. She will complete her BAAS Degree program at Texas A&M Commerce this summer.
