Athens — CANEY CITY – A woman who went for an early morning swim on Sunday, but did not return, has been found.

According to Caney City Police Lt. Dan Huckabee, the Caney City Police Department received a call about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, about a woman who did not return after swimming in Cedar Creek Lake.

Jessica Hunt, 22, of Gun Barrel City was found safe at about 1 p.m. on Monday.

Huckabee said she was found at Kamman Exxon unharmed. Hunt said she was not aware she had been reported missing.

Huckabee did not report the information surrounding her disappearance to the Review.

The search for Hunt not only involved the Caney City Police Department, but the Game Warden was on the lake searching for the woman with help from the Henderson County Sheriff's Department.

Capt. Bryan Tower with the Henderson County Sheriff's Department  said the sheriff's department assisted the Game Warden with the search.

Tower said the sheriff's department received a call at about 7:30 a.m., Sunday concerning a woman missing on Cedar Creek Lake in Caney City. The rescue boat was launched in Log Cabin because of the low levels of the lake according to Tower.

The Game Warden had been searching for Hunt since Sunday. The search was called off once Hunt was located.

Lt. Huckabee said no charges will be filed.
