DEU arrests three on drug charges

From Staff Reports

Three people were arrested on drug charges in Payne Springs Tuesday, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department reports stated.

Eddie Dewayne Shoemake, 38, Johnny Arthur King, 30, and Kourtney Nicole Schwab, 21, were each booked into the Henderson County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance (4 to 200 grams), a first-degree felony.

King had also been sought on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram.

Drug Enforcement Unit investigators obtained a felony warrant on King, Tuesday and went to Payne Springs to locate him. Investigators located King in a vehicle driven by Shoemake. Schwab was also a passenger in the vehicle.

Investigators observed the car as it turned into Shoemake’s driveway in the Southwood Shores Subdivision. Officers searched the vehicle where they found a baggie as well as a syringe.

HCSO reports stated the baggie contained a substance that appeared to be the “ice” form of methamphetamine. Officers seized the substance for analysis.

According to information from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, ice is the crystallized form of methamphetamine and is generally smoked.
