Athens — Confused about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or as is more commonly known, “Obamacare?” You are not alone.

Confusion about ACA is rampant, but what you should know is that the deadline of March 31 is the day all should have health insurance.

Special Health Resources of Texas will be in Athens on Feb. 4 to explain the Health Insurance Marketplaces to those who have not been made aware of their options.

Clyde Clubb, Lead Navigator for the outreach program, said they will be at the Clint Murchison Memorial Library on Tuesday, Feb. 4 to explain how to find coverage that fits your budget and meets your needs. Clubb said the event is open to everyone who is not insured, or wants more information about ACA.

Clubb said Special Health Resources of Texas received a grant from Tarrant County United Way to provide information about the healthcare act to 24 counties in Texas.

Clubb said he will first explain how the ACA became law, and how the Supreme Court has upheld the law. He plans on explaining the penalties associated with the healthcare law, as well as the requirements involved in enrollments.

“We will walk you through the process of signing up for health care through the Health Insurance Marketplace,” Clubb said. “Whether you're uninsured, or just want to explore your choices, the Marketplace will help find coverage that's right for you. Come to the event to find out if you are exempt from penalties.”

Clubb said they are looking for the 25 percent of Texans who currently are not insured. The Navigators at the events are certified to sign an applicant up for health insurance through the Health Care Marketplace.

Special Health Resource of Texas will hold information events at three locations in the coming weeks.

Clint Murchison Memorial Library will host the first event on Feb. 4, from 5:30 p.m. to  7 p.m. The location is 121 N. Prairieville St., Athens.

On Feb. 10 the event will be at Library at Cedar Creek Lake, located at 410 E. Cedar Creek Parkway, Seven Points.  It will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Feb. 11 the event will be at Tri-County Library at 132 E. Market St., Mabank from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
