Athens —
A big weekend for Keep Athens Beautiful will wrap up Saturday with the annual Home & Garden Show.
The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cain Center in Athens. Admission is free.
Information regarding remodeling your home, landscaping your yard and living a more healthy life will be offered, and mini-workshops will be held covering topics including organic gardening, container gardening and improving your curb appeal.
“We’re anticipating a really nice crowd,” KAB Executive Director Carol Morton said. “It’s always a popular event because of the topic, and we'll have a lot of different vendors there once again.”
Rebecca Miller, a Master Gardner who co-hosts “Living Naturally First” on WBAP radio, will host a mini-workshop on organic gardening beginning at 10:30 a.m. Miller was the featured speaker at KAB’s “Organically Speaking” event held Thursday.
Stephen Gent, owner of McDade’s Nursery in Tool, will host a mini-workshop, “Ready, Set, Spring,” beginning at 1 p.m.
Event sponsors are KCKL, Redline Power Equipment, Sears Hometown Store, Cole Air Conditioning, Citizen National Bank, Italian Granite, TVEC and Texas Trust Credit Union.
