Mabank’s calling all cowboys and cowgirls to the 58th Annual Rodeo and Western Week.
Let the games begin at the Mabank Pavilion on Tuesday, June 25. The game portion of Western Week will start at 6:30 p.m. The ever-popular bed races begin at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Fire Department will host the Queens Dinner at 7 p.m. in the Mabank Fire Station. After the dinner, the Rodeo Queen will be announced.
The Rodeo held at Andrew Gibbs Memorial Arena will include events such as calf roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies open barrels, bull riding, bareback and ranch bronco.
The rodeo will begin on Friday, June 28 at 8 p.m. The Friday rodeo will include slack after rodeo-rough stock. Registration for the rodeo will begin on Monday, June 24 from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Entry fees for the rodeo will be $80. The cost for the rodeo will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under 13. Kids under 5 are free.
The rodeo continues on Saturday, June 29 with slack at 9 a.m. and the rodeo will start again at 8 p.m.
The Rodeo Parade will begin at the Rodeo Arena at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The parade will start lining up at 4 p.m. Parade organizers said they will be paying three places for the best western theme float or wagon. Signup will need to be turned into the Mabank Fire Department by 2 p.m. on Saturday.
