The Athens Review
AUSTIN – The latest person added to the Texas Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list has ties to the Athens area.
Doug Otis Sims, 32, was added to 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list on Tuesday. A cash reward up to $3,000 is now being offered for information leading to his capture.
DPS says Sims has a violent criminal past and is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration and burglary of habitation. All tips can be offered anonymously.

Sims’ criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, assault, evading arrest/detention and DWI. In 2003, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl nine times over a period of several months.
Sims is 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He has cut scars on his back and chest and multiple tattoos on his lower-left leg and tribal art on his right hand, left arm and left leg.
