HCSO arrests man on assault charges

A man was arrested Wednesday near Eustace in connection with the sexual assault of a child that allegedly occurred on Memorial Day.

Dale Alexander Worley, 19, was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a charge of aggravated assault of a child under the age of 14.

The HCSO served the warrant on Worley the same afternoon. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Henderson County Justice Center.

Bond on Worley was set at $100,000.

According to Henderson County reports, dispatch received a call at about 3:20 a.m. Monday of a disturbance on Parkview Drive in the Eustace area. Deputy Richard Miller drove to the residence and discovered that the disturbance developed as a result of a sexual assault on a 12-year-old girl.

Reports said Investigator Caresa Ballard was called to the location where she spoke to the victim and others at the scene. In the course of her investigation Ballard obtained sufficient evidence to obtain an arrest warrant from Precinct 6 Justice of the Peace Milton Adams.
