Henderson County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators gathered information during an ongoing investigation that led to a search and felony arrest Wednesday on Arnold Hills Road in Seven Points.
Warren Chester Atwater, IV, 40, of Kemp, was booked into the Henderson County Jail for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance (4 grams to 200 grams). He was released after posting $3,500 bond.
The offense is a first-degree felony, which carries a possible sentence, upon conviction, of five to 99 years in a state prison and a possible fine of not more than $10,000.
HCSO reports that after Investigators Kay Langford and Wick Gabbard submitted an affidavit to Justice of the Peace Milton Adams, Adams issued a warrant to search an apartment on Arnold Hills. The Henderson County Tactical Unit executed the warrant and determined that Atwater was in possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia related to the sale and distribution of methamphetamine.
Authorities also seized a pistol-gripped 12-gauge shotgun, .38-caliber revolver and a Tech 9 handheld firearm found at the residence.
The seized weapons will be submitted to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab for forensic testing. Additional charges against Atwater could result from the firearms. The investigation continues in the case.
