Athens —
A Henderson County Sheriff’s Office investigation into methamphetamine manufacturing in Log Cabin resulted in three arrests Thursday.
Shelia Lynnh Burleson, 52, was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (four grams to 200 grams) The offense is a first degree felony. She was released after posting $25,000 bond.
James Darrell Howard, 55, was booked for possession of a controlled substance (one gram to four grams) a third-degree felony. He was released, with bond set at $7,500.
Rene Machelle Lane, 50, was charged with possession of less than one gram of a controlled substance, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $5,000 on the possession charge. Lane was also held on warrants for previous offenses. She remained in custody Friday afternoon.
The HCSO Narcotics Unit had been investigating possible narcotics activity from a residence on San Jacinto in Log Cabin. Investigator Wick Gabbard gathered enough probable cause to present to Justice of the Peace Milton Adams, and obtain a search warrant.
HCSO reports indicate that officers arrived at the residence shortly after 10 p.m. They found the three suspects inside, as well as a quantity of the suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia commonly used in distributing narcotics.
The suspects were arrested at the scene and transported to the Henderson County Justice Center for booking.
Officers who participated in the search or arrest include, HCSO Investigators Gabbard and Kay Langford, Capt. Bryan Tower, Warrant Dep. Kyle Pochobradsky, Log Cabin Police Chief Wayne Nutt and LCPD Officer Jonathan Hutchison.

Harry and Patti Hogue present a check for $500 to go toward the Splash Pad at Kiwanis Park in Athens. The fund-raising effort is nearing the finish line for the $220,000 project, although donations are still being sought. The Splash Pad is expected to be open some time this summer.
