PAYNE SPRINGS – The Payne Springs City Council has called a special meeting for Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the cities sign ordinances. The meeting will be held at the Payne Spring's City Hall.
According to the Payne Springs Council agenda, the council will be discussing a business permit for aPayne Springs Volunteer Fire Department sign, the location of the PS VFD sign, and three of the sign ordinances in Payne Springs.
Payne Springs Fire Chief Randy Harley said the VFD was told they had to apply for a sign permit to put a sign in front of the newly-built Payne Springs Volunteer Fire Department building.
The VFD applied for the permit, but was told the sign was in the right-a-way, and they would not at that time be issued a permit.
Harley said, “We are not trying to be trouble. We want to do what is right.”
Harley said he would be at the meeting on Wednesday to plead his case.
The council will also be discussing the Southwood Shores Project.
