The Athens Review
Athens Police have released the names of two people killed in a wreck Tuesday on Loop 7.
Police Chief Buddy Hill identified the victims as Jack W. Robinson, 80, and his wife, Thelma T. Robinson, 70, of Simsboro, La.
According to police reports, the Robinsons were driving westbound on Loop 7, between State Highway 31 and Farm-to-Market Road 1616, in a 2010 Honda Accord. The car pulled onto the improved shoulder and stopped, and some time later, it was struck from behind by a 2009 Isuzu box truck driven by Jason S. Adams, 41, of Irving. The truck is registered to K&M Tire of Dallas.
Upon impact, both vehicles traveled another 150 feet, and came to rest in a ditch.
Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Randy Daniel performed the inquest.
“For whatever reason, (Adams) drove out of the traffic lane, and onto the improved shoulder,” Hill said. “The investigation is still ongoing, and our findings will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review.”
A law enforcement agency filing such information with the district attorney’s office is standard in cases where a death takes place.
