Athens —

GUN BARREL CITY - The Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club is pleased and excited to announce the upcoming completion and dedication of Oehlers Landing, a handicap accessible Fishing Pier at Tom Finley Park on Cedar Creek Lake.  This Fishing Pier is dedicated to  Veterans and Military Servicemen and Servicewomen and is being donated to the Cedar Creek Lake Community for use by the public 24 hours a day.

This project is perhaps the largest individual Parrot Head Project ever undertaken by any Parrot Head Club and has been built at the cost of approximately $50,000.00 and hundreds of man-hours from club members.

The Parrot Head Club has built this Pier in the name of Eddie Oehlers, a long time Parrot Head, U.S. Navy Veteran, and a Community Leader that spent his life helping Veterans, the Disabled and those in need.

The Dedication will take place at the Pier at Tom Finley Park in Gun Barrel City, Texas and will include support from many Veterans organizations and will include a 21 gun salute and taps to honor our fallen members of the military.
