Early voting started Monday

Voters will decide a number of elections on May 11

Athens — Voters started casting their ballots Monday for a variety of elections that will be decided May 11. Early voting runs through May 7.

  Voters in the elections to decide whether to create Henderson County Emergency Services Districts No. 6 and No. 8 can cast ballots at the Chandler Community Center at 811 Highway 31 E or the Henderson County Election Center at 201 E. Larkin Street in Athens. Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  Early voting for the Athens Independent School District Board of Trustees will be held at the District Support Center at 104 Hawn Street. Voting hours at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  Murchison is holding an election for the sale of alcoholic beverages. Early balloting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall, located at 9540 Farm-to-Market Road 773.

  Gun Barrel City voters will cast early ballots atCity Hall at 1716 W. Main Street on propositions concerning the city charter. The voting will be conducted during regular business hours.

  Election Day voting will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
