Fire Marshal’s office solves boat dumps case

Athens — On July 25, several boats were dumped on County Road  2832 in the Payne Springs area.

On July 26, Fire Marshal Shane Renberg and Dep. Fire Marshal Sherry Rotan responded to the area the boats were dumped. During the investigation, the fire marshal personnel identified the person responsible for the Illegal Dumping as James Walker of Payne Springs. On Aug. 1, Renberg obtained a Felony Illegal Dumping warrant for Walker and Renberg with Dep. Sherry Rotan arrested him at a residence in Golden Oaks.

Walker was transported to Henderson County Jail where he was booked in for Felony Illegal Dumping.

“I want the citizens of Henderson County to know that my office pursues all illegal dumping cases and the majority of the time, these offenses result in fines and or jail time,” Renberg said. “These are serious offenses. and any individual illegally dumping in Henderson County should be aware of the consequences. All illegal dumping violations should be reported to the Henderson County Fire Marshal’s Office as soon as possible.”
