ATHENS — Keep Athens Beautiful and The East Texas Arboretum will host an ECO Camp for children Kindergarten through fourth grade beginning July 22 and ending July 26, Monday through Friday.

ECO Camp is designed for children to participate in activities relating to the environment through arts and crafts, science, music/storytelling and games.  Each day will have a theme centered around littering, recycling, water conservation, trees and more. The activities will include hiking, making a garbage pizza, learning about oil and water and more.

Each day, there will be a short lesson about the day’s theme.  The group will read a great story, learn some funny songs to sing and enjoy the outdoors.

The camp will be held at the East Texas Arboretum, 1601 Patterson Road, each day.  The day starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.  Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.  Campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day.
