On Nov. 16 at about 2 a.m., Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Dep. Brad Beddingfield conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on County Road 4117 near Berryville. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 35-year-old Melissa Fountain.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and a substance suspected to be cocaine was discovered. During the traffic stop, Beddingfield also observed a small bag of various prescription medications, and a small bag of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Fountain was placed under arrest, and was transported to the Henderson County Justice Center, where she was booked for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, along with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.
In convicted of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Melissa could face up to two years in State jail, and up to a $10,000 fine.
