APD arrests four for drugs

Athens — The Athens Police Department arrested four people for possession of marijuana at a traffic stop early Thursday.

Not long after midnight, Officer Marshall Passons saw the individuals in a Jeep Cherokee in the 1000 block of North Hamlett Street. The officer discovered marijuana, and an open container in the vehicle.

Chelsea Darrell Seifert, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), and violation of the open container law. She remained in jail Thursday, with bond set at $3,500.

Dez Raymon Buckaloo, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana (less than two ounces. He was released after posting $3,500 bond.

Taylor Dawn Russell, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana (less than two ounces). She was released after posting $3,500 bond.

Jarius Mikeel Sweat, 20, was charged with possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), and remained in custody Thursday, with bond set at $3,500.

Officers Dustin Cook and Josh Beaty, Cpl. Dana Dykes and Sgt. Jason McEntire all assisted Passons at the scene.
