Man killed in one-vehicle wreck

Frankston resident dies after rolling his 1998 Chevrolet pickup, DPS reports state he was traveling at a high rate of speed

A one-vehicle wreck in east Henderson County killed a Frankston man Saturday.

Wayne Franklin Goode, 51, died at the scene after rolling his 1998 Chevrolet pickup, Texas Department of Public Safety reports stated.

Goode was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

According to the report by DPS Trooper Jason Rolison, Goode was driving east at 11:50 a.m., on Twin Bay Landing Road near Bayside Drive in the Coffee City area.

The report stated Goode was traveling at a high rate of speed when he reached the spot where Twin Bay Landing road dead ends.

The posted speed limit on the road is 30 miles-per-hour.

At the end of the roadway, the Chevrolet struck a pipe fence. Goode lost control of the vehicle which overturned, then rolled several times. Goode was not wearing a seat belt when the wreck occurred, Rolison said.

As DPS and rescue personnel worked the wreck, Goode was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Sue Tarrant.

Tarrant ordered the body taken to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for an autopsy.
