• The Seven Points Volunteer Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters. All training will be provided by the fire department or other fire service agencies at no cost to the volunteer. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old, live within two miles of the Seven Points fire district and be able to pass a drug test and background check. • Drop by the Henderson County Clint W. Murchison Memorial Library during your lunch hour to see local author Chuck Keyes. Also, you will be able you buy a copy of Cynella’s Gift and have him sign it. The event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday Feb. 5. The library is located at 121 S. • Gun Barrel City Assembly No 369 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls will host a chili cook-off at Cedar Creek Masonic Lodge, on 402 Legendary Lane, in GBC, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to contribute a $5 donation for adults and $3 donation for children 12 and under.
