Athens —
A 42-year-old man whose driving habits attracted the attention of a Henderson County Deputy was arrested Monday for possession of marijuana.
Terry Brightwell Morris was charged with possession of less then two ounces of the substance, and booked into the Henderson County Jail. He posted $3,500, and was released.
Deputy John Daniels reported that he saw Brightwell driving a white Nissan pickup at a rate above the speed limit on County Road 3105, near Chandler.
Daniels also saw that the vehicle pulled away from a stop sign without the driver signaling a turn.
Daniels stopped the Nissan, and began to inventory the vehicle. Inside he found a green, leafy substance that appeared to the officer to be marijuana.
Morris, reports said, admitted to Daniels that the marijuana belonged to him. He was transported to jail, and booked on the possession charge.
