Athens — The City of Athens Department of Tourism is offering a series of free Texas Friendly Hospitality Trainings for hospitality industry employees.

The next training will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Athens Partnership Center, located at 201 W. Corsicana St.

The Texas Hospitality Training offers essential training for all front-line employees, including front-desk staff, hotel staff, guest services, sales managers, gas station attendants, restaurant staff and more.

Excellent customer service is a vital key to the lifeline of all successful businesses, as well as the success of the tourism industry here in Athens.

“Athens has so much to offer visitors, and we are excited to teach our front-line employees basic customer service skills, combined with useful resources, to provide great customer service to their customers,” said Sherri Skeeters, tourism coordinator for the City of Athens Department of Tourism.

The City of Athens Department of Tourism will arm employees with first-hand knowledge of Athens’ current attractions, how to speak “Texas Friendly,” ensuring top-notch customer service, upcoming events and more.
