• The Seven Points Volunteer Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters. All training will be provided by the fire department or other fire service agencies at no cost to the volunteer. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old, live within two miles of the Seven Points fire district and be able to pass a drug test and background check. • Gun Barrel City Assembly No 369 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls will host a chili cook-off at Cedar Creek Masonic Lodge, on 402 Legendary Lane, in GBC, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to contribute a $5 donation for adults and $3 donation for children 12 and under. • The Henderson County Board of Realtors will hold its awards banquet at Jalapeno Tree, in Gun Barrel City from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• The Henderson County Retired School Personnel will meet at Athens First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. The program will be The Disciples Clinic, a medical office in Athens staffed with volunteers to serve those who have no medical insurance and who meet screening guidelines. Any updates from the Texas Retired Teachers Association will be discussed during the business session. All retired school employees are invited to attend.

• The Star Harbor Bridge Club will sponsor a fundraiser for the Star Harbor Building Fund at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, on County Road 3062, at 10 a.m. Doors will open to serve coffee at 9 a.m. The $20 fee will include lunch and the chance to win prizes.
