The Athens Review
The Athens City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting on Monday fell victim to the same problem that has been plaguing, schools, business offices and other organizations this winter — a proliferation of colds and other maladies.
City Director of Planning Gary Crecelius said because of health problems and other circumstances, the a quorum of the four council members was not available for its first February meeting. The council’s next meeting is Feb. 25.
The city council rules of procedures state that, “A majority of the qualified members of the city council shall constitute a quorum to do business and the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified council shall be necessary to adopt any ordinance or resolution.”
