Typically, a call out to all civil servants means something bad has happened. But not this time.
The Athens Independent School District will honor area civil servants prior to Friday night's game at Bruce Field against Canton.
All police, fire, hospital and sheriff's office employees, as well as members of the military, will be recognized on the field. All civil servants who show an ID at the gate will also will be admitted to the game free.
Those who wish to be recognized on the field are asked to begin lining up in the east-end zone near the Athens field house around 6:45 p.m.
Then stay for the game and watch the Hornets square off with the Canton Eagles in the District 15-3A opener beginning at 7:30 p.m.!
