HCBRA sponsoring two major events

Athens — The Henderson County Black Rodeo Association is currently sponsoring two upcoming events.

First event:  Holiday Can Food Drive, Dec. 15 and 16, First State Bank, 1114 E. Tyler St., Athens. Please help by brining nonperishable food items, your donation matters.  It will benefit, the Food Pantry Inc. 715 East Corsicana Street, Athens, Texas 75751

The second event is Dare to Share in the Dream, Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, Jan. 19, 2013, 10 a.m. in Athens at the standard parade route around the square.

Registration deadline is Jan. 5, 2013. Contact: or Toni Johnson 214-394-0224 for all  registration forms.

Individuals are $15, and organizations, clubs are  $20. For marching bands and entries outside of Henderson County, there is no fee.

Food and merchandise vendors, and contest entries should request registration forms from e-mail or from the phone number above

The event will be food and fun for the entire community. It will allow proceeds for the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Black Rodeo produced by RCA on June 15, 2013.
