Athens — The public is invited to attend the Annual Methodist Men’s Chili Cook-Off and Auction on Sunday, Feb. 10, in the Activities Building of Athens First United Methodist Church.

Those who wish to enter the cook-off need to bring 6-8 quarts of chili and be there by 4 p.m. to decorate your table space.  Trophies will be awarded, plus you can vote for the “People’s Choice” winner by donating to your favorite. Funds collected will go to a special mission project.

Those who enjoy free chili can come at 5 p.m. and share in a good meal and enjoy a silent and live auction. Delicious baked items will be available, as well as manufactured and handmade items. Funds raised will go toward the support of Christian growth among men as they mature into disciples of Christ. They contribute both money and labor to groups in the church and community such as the Food Pantry, Family Peace Project, Labor of Love, Meals on Wheels, Christian Prison Ministry, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Disciples Clinic of Athens and many others.

Come and enjoy the complementary meal, fellowship and a fun auction.

The church is located on the corner of East College and Lovers Lane in Athens.
