Hours before a deal was set to expire between Suddenlink and News Corp./Fox, both sides reached an agreement on a contract extension late Thursday night.
Suddenlink subscribers could have been left without KDFW Fox 4, which broadcasted last night’s AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic between Texas A&M and Oklahoma from Cowboys Stadium.
The contract extension now keeps FX, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild, Speed, Fuel TV, Fox Soccer, Fox Movie, Fox Deportes, Fox College Sports and other networks in play for subscribers.
The Fox network released a statement saying, “We look forward to finalizing the agreement and are pleased that we could come to terms without any service interruption for Suddenlink customers and our loyal Fox viewers.”
Suddenlink representatives said the current agreement has been extended for another week while they work out the details of the new agreement.
Specific terms of the new agreement were not disclosed.
