— The Star Harbor Watercolor Society second annual ‘For the Love of Art’ show and sale is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Star Harbor City Hall building, on 99 Sunset Boulevard, in Star Harbor from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Over 100 pieces of art will be displayed. Refreshments will be served, and the artists will be present to meet the public.
The organization was founded in 2005 to improve the painting skills of its members and to stimulate public interest in watercolor art through exhibits.
Society members have entered the annual Henderson County Art Show held each April at the Cain Center in Athens and have won ribbons for their work each year including Best of Show 2006 and 2009.
Several members entered pieces in the 2007 State Fair of Texas in Dallas resulting in ribbons and a Best of Show.
More ribbons were earned by members at the fair in 2008 and 2009 including several first place blues.
