Bid passed for seal coat

All action items on agenda pass unanimously by Athens City Council

Athens — Lone Star Equipment was the winning company in a bid considered by Athens City Council Monday.  The bid was $176,886.71 for the 2013 Seal Coat Program.

Other companies that bid on the project were Wes Scott, Inc. of Cooper, and Reynolds & Kay, LTD of Tyler. 

The program, which brings tar and rock together on city streets, was passed unanimously by city council.

Also unanimously passed was a proposal for water line improvements for Gibson Road and Robbins Road, amounting to an expenditure of $53,000. An additional $17,000 was removed from the proposal.

In another resolution, council unanimously approved the adoption of a Rate Review Mechanism Agreement with Atmos Energy Corporation, Mid-Tex Division.
