The Athens Review
The much anticipated fall party at Cedar Creek Lake is just around the corner.
“A Night In Rock ‘n Roll Alley,” scheduled for Oct. 20 at Lakeplex Lanes in Seven Points, will feature a combination of bowling and rockin’ oldies music for a night of FUNdraising for the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s theme has moved up an era – from the 50s last year to the 60s, so think tie-die, love beads, flowers and peace signs.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and ticket holders will be treated to a night of bowling, Dino “Danger” Perelli playing his best rockin’ oldies music for dancing, a diner fare dinner, open billiards table, games, raffles, live and silent auctions and lots of surprises
Many generous businesses and individuals have donated goods and services for auction and there will be items for sale in every price range.
Tickets are $40 each and they include admission, dinner (diner fare), a door-prize ticket, entertainment, and a chance to participate in the Second Annual Rock ‘n Roll Alley Open Bowling Tournament.
The tournament is optional for attendees, and will be held during the event, with prizes for the top three women, top three men and the top team. It’s a 4-Person Ninepin No-Tap Format, and teams can bowl one or two games and turn in the best score.
The competition will start at 6:30 p.m. top 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m., leaving plenty of time before and after to enjoy the party.
Every bowler in the tournament must have an event ticket, and teams are asked to sign up in advance. Call or email the chamber for a form.
Purchase your ticket in advance at the Hub office, 604 S. Third St., Suite E, Mabank.
You can pay by phone with a credit card Visa/MC/Discover and have your tickets held at the “Will Call.” Tickets will be available at the door.
