Traffic stop leads to arrest

Athens — Athens Police Department traffic stops yielded two arrests for possession of drugs on Monday night, according to police reports.

 The first involved Linda Luann Motl, 42, who was charged with possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility and driving while license invalid. She was released on Tuesday, after posting $3,500 bond.

Information from APD stated that at 7:18 p.m., Officer Jonathan Hutc­hison stopped a vehicle on N. Pinkerton Street for a traffic violation.

The officer made contact with Motl and found that she did not have a valid driver’s license. Motl was transported to jail, where she was discovered to have a small baggie of methamphetamine in her possession.

At 9:35 p.m., Officer Wesley Hoover stopped a Ford F-150 on Flat Creek Road for a traffic violation. William Del Tubbs was found to be in possession of dangerous drugs and was arrested at the scene and transported to jail. Bond on Tubbs was not available on Wednesday afternoon. Tubbs has had several previous drug arrests in the county.
