BHS band performs well

11 student earn all-area honors

BROWNSBORO — Several bands from across East Texas participated in the Association of Texas Small School Bands all-region competition Saturday in Winona.

Brownsboro High School had several students perform well in the competition with 11 earning all-area recognition.

Placing all-area were Taylor Johnston, Shannon Peterson, Sergio Olivares, Marianna DeLeon, Crystal Scott, Madison Morriss, Amanda Earsley, Haley Thomas, Johnathan Rhoads, Christian Warren and Zane Griffin. These students will audition for All-State on Jan. 11.

Congratulations to the following students for making the Region 21 All-Region Band:

Taylor Johnston - first symphonic Flute, Shannon Peterson - second Symphonic Flute, Sergio Olivares  - third Symphonic Flute, Emily Milender - 11th Concert Flute, Radley Finer - 16th Concert flute, Megan San Miguel - 21st Concert Flute, Rebekah Moran - 6th Concert Oboe, Marianna DeLeon 5th Symphonic Clarinet, Crystal Scott 7th Symphonic Clarinet, Jermaine Castillo - 16th Symphonic Clarinet.

Other All-Region members are: Tra Boggas - 29th Concert Clarinet, Madison Neal 7th Concert Bass Clarinet, Doug, Toler - 5th Concert Baritone Sax, Jonathan Rhoads 5th Symphonic Trumpet, Estefania Lucas - 10th Symphonic Trumpet, Mickey, McNatt - 14th Symphonic Trumpet, Bethany Walker 29th Concert Trumpet, Madison Morris - 1st Symphonic French Horn, Amanda Earsley - 2nd Symphonic French Horn, Haley Thomas - 3rd Symphonic French Horn, Josh Waterman - 20th Concert French Horn, Michael Ibarra - 7th Symphonic Trombone, Andrew Parker - 14th Concert Trombone, Christian Warren - 1st Symphonic Bass Trombone, Lilly Chapman4th Concert Bass Trombone, Zane Griffin - 4th Symphonic percussion, and Josh Martin - 15th Concert Percussion.
