Keep Athens Beautiful is encouraging everyone to do their part this fall.
The annual Fall Clean and Texas Recycles Day will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Aaron Street collection site.
KAB Executive Director Carol Morton said the clean-up is carried out in partnership with the City of Athens and Allied Waste.
“It’s our annual clean-up we offer to the residents to clean-up their yard free of charge,” she said.
Morton said residents can drop off recyclable and waste, and all that’s required is a water bill and driver’s license to prove you are an Athens resident.
She said any electronics, cell phones and batteries can be recycled.
“You can bring cans, newspapers, magazines and bottles,” Morton said. “No household trash will be taken.”
KAB is also recruiting clean teams to clean up problem areas.
“I’m just getting them in but I usually have three to four (teams),” she said. “I would like to have 10.”
Morton said volunteers with the clean teams will receive a T-shirt and a sack.
