Vandals strike Bruce Field

By Robby Robertson Staff Writer

Sometime between Saturday and Monday morning, vandals broke into Bruce Field, and caused havoc.

“I came up here Saturday to clean the stadium, and everything was fine,” Darrell Johnson, stadium supervisor, said. “I got back here Monday, and several things were a mess.”

Johnson said the sink in the boys’ bathroom on the visitor’s side was ripped out of the wall. The vandals punched five holes in each tire on the Victory Bell.

“The bell was left on the sideline where we always leave it for the next game,” Johnson said. “They punched five holes in each tire.”

The TVCC flags that stood at the top of the bleachers were thrown all over the field, and out in the road, Johnson said.

Johnson commented that he had to do all the repairs to the bathroom, and clean up some of the trash that was left by the vandals.

As of Thursday, no suspects had been found.
