HCSO arrests a Kemp woman suspected of taking part in burglaries

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Kemp woman Wednesday suspected of taking part in several recent burglaries in the west end of the county.
Sheriff’s Ray Nutt said Investigator Kalon Rollins, with the assistance of Kaufman County Precinct 4 Constable Bryant Morris, arrested Bonnie Lou Story at her Kemp residence, Wednesday afternoon.
Story, 59, was charged with theft ($500 to $1,500) and booked into the Henderson County Jail. The charge is a class A misdemeanor under the Texas Penal Code.
Story was released Thursday after posting $1,000 bond. The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation into residential break-ins reported around Seven Points over the past two months.
Rollins, along with Investigator Bryan Tower had been working leads concerning the burglaries, and compiled a list of suspects and vehicle descriptions. The investigation linked Story to several of the burglaries. They were also able to recover several of the stolen items.
Nutt said the burglaries occurred during the daytime hours when the resident was away. The burglars have taken numerous items, but seem to have shown a preference for firearms and jewelry.
The Sheriff’s Office asks citizens to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity and write down the license number of any strange vehicle. Rollins said the burglaries are an ongoing problem in the lake area.
Earlier this week, HCSO officers made arrests in connection with a Malakoff burglary. In that case two suspects, Keith Lee Morris and Randy Lee Moore, were charged with a break in the Point La Vista subdivision.
