An Athens physician has been re-elected to a key Texas Medical Association (TMA) leadership position.
Douglas W. Curran, MD, a family practice physician for 29 years, was reelected to TMA’s Council on Legislation. The council develops and implements legislative policies at both the state and national level. Dr. Curran will serve a three-year term on the council. He is a member of the Henderson County Medical Society.
TMA physicians and medical students can be appointed or elected to a position on one of TMA’s 30 boards, councils, and committees. They are responsible for studying and recommending action on important issues affecting Texas patients and health care policy.
TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing nearly 43,000 physician and medical student members.
