Suspects in DEU operation identified

Eighteen suspects arrested Wednesday on warrants served by the Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit investigation have been arraigned. Half of the individuals remained in the Henderson County Jail Friday, with bonds ranging from $5,000 to $400,000.

The arrests followed a six-month DEU investigation targeting the manufacture and sale of crack cocaine. The findings of the investigation were presented to the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and sealed indictments were subsequently obtained on the suspects.

Fifteen of the suspects have Athens addresses. Athens Police Department Chief Buddy Hill commended the officers who took part in the operation.

“The arrests are the result of several months of thorough investigation by the DEU. They’ve done an outstanding job of building solid cases against these individuals,” Hill said. “The arrests were a result of a cooperative effort involving most of the law enforcement departments in the county.”

The following individuals have been released on bond (including charges):

• Adrian Duron Donnell, 22, Athens, three counts of manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), bond $300,000;

• Eric Darell Jackson, 32, Malakoff, two counts of manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), bond $150,000;

• Steven Lamont Wilson, 29, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), bond $50,000;

• Lonnie Joe Eldridge Jr., 35, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams, bond $30,000;

• Robert Lee Neal II, 20, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (1-4 grams), bond $20,000;

• Drake Lathon Bentley, 20, Athens, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug, forgery altering a prescription, bond $17,500;

• Grady Gene Chancellor, 45, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance, (1-4 grams), bond $10,000;

• Khiry Tawayne Jones, 18, Athens, unlawful delivery and manufacture of a controlled substance, (less than one gram), bond $5,000; and

• James Clayborn Kiser, 24, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (less than one gram), bond $5,000;

The following Individuals remained in jail Friday:

• Brunzwick Lakeith Jones, 36, Athens, eight counts of manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), bond $400,000;

• Hasani Sameel Pariall, 20, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), 53,500;

• Robert Taylor Fillmore, 45, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (1-4 grams), $50,000;

• Darrell Ceylon Minifee, 43, Athens, 2 counts of manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), $40,000;

• Courtney Cecele Freeney, 24, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance, (4-200 grams) bond $25,000;

• Kevin Ray Jackson, 21, Malakoff, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (4-200 grams), $25,000;

• Thurston Wynne Rockmore, 37, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance, (4-200 grams), bond $10,000;

• Laura Anjanette Hammon, 44, Caney City, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance, (less than one gram), bond $5,000; and

• Demarcus Charles Chancellor, 22, Athens, manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance, (less than one gram) bond $5,000;

The felony offenses included in the various warrants involved sentences from 6 months to 20 years in prison. Several of the warrants were served on suspects who had been arrested previously for similar offenses and then released on bond.
