The 23rd Annual Elder Dodge Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Henderson County Stampede was held on Friday and Saturday nights with almost no mishaps.
The final night of the rodeo an Athens resident was injured when her horse rolled onto her.
Her name was not released because she is a minor.
She had just finished her run in the In-County Girls Barrel Racing. She was riding her horse into the back area when the accident occurred.
According to the announcer, Andy Stewart, a horse ran in front of her and spooked the horse she was riding.
Paramedics were immediately called to the scene and the rodeo was temporarily halted.
She was transported by ambulance and taken to Tyler by a helicopter.
Her condition is unknown.
