The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department recovered a pair of motorcycles Monday evening that had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
The cycles had been taken from the Leisure Land subdivision in Payne Springs.
Shortly after 6 p.m., HCSD Deputy Josh Rickman took a report from a complainant who said his motorcycles had been stolen while he was at work.
During the investigation Rickman, Deputy Brady McGee and officers from the Payne Springs and Malakoff police departments were led to a residence in the Mack Oaks subdivision where they believed the cycles might be found.
Upon arrival, the officers discovered several people inside the residence.
After receiving permission from the homeowner to search the property, Rickman found the stolen items behind the residence.
Officers reportedly saw a man hiding in tall grass. When officers approached him, the man fled.
A search of the area failed to locate the suspect.
At the scene, officers arrested Wayne Eldon Ktretzmeier, 49, for outstanding Kaufman County misdemeanor warrants.
Dylan Don Oliver, 28, was arrested for failure to identify to a peace officer.
Both remained in the Henderson County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities returned the motorcycles to the owner.
The investigation into the theft of the motorcycles is ongoing, sheriff’s department reports stated.
