Athens- Private Services for Julian W Mettetal, 88, of Athens are scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2009 with Dr. Gary L. McAllister officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Mr. Mettetal died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in Athens.

He was born December 28, 1920 in Collegeville, Arkansas to Charlie and Tennie Bell Kennemer Mettetal. He had been a resident of Henderson County since July, 1998 and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Julian was an avid fisherman and loved fishing with his children. He loved working with wood. He was a handyman and there wasn’t anything that he could not do. He also enjoyed gardening. Julian was a wonderful husband and father.

Survivors include wife of 64 years Wanda Jean Patterson Mettetal, Athens; sons Julian Wayne Mettetal, Jr. and wife Bonnie, Lake Jackson; Dr. C. Ted Mettetal and wife Jo, Athens; Michael Bart Mettetal and wife Jayne, Sherman; daughters Sherry Lynn Mettetal Woods, Monticello, Ark.; Mary Ellen Mettetal McAllister and husband Gary, Conway, Ark.; sister Billye Jean Ramsey, Benton, Ark.; grandchildren Michelle Woods Denson, Nashville, Tn.; Kristopher Kevin Woods, Goodlettsville, TN., Wendy Woods Binns, Monticello, Ark., Michael Ryan Mettetal, Denver, Co., Robert Wayne Mettetal, Houston; Dustin Charles Mettetal, Athens; Scott Joseph Narkiewicz, Euless; Erin Elizabeth Mettetal, Lubbock; Jessica Marie Mettetal LaPointe, Athens; Gavin Lynn McAllister, Conway, Ark.; Jennifer Danielle Mettetal, Athens; Jason Caleb McAllister, Conway, Ark.; Nicolas Kane Mettetal, Athens; great grandchildren K. J. Woods, Dylan Binns, Michaela Binns, Ella Jean Denson, Alexxis LaPointe, Kaden Woods, Kolton Wayne Woods, numerous great friends.

Pallbearers are Wayne Mettetal, Jr., Gary Mettetal, Dr. C. Ted Mettetal, Michael Mettetal.

Family will receive friends 4-6 P M Friday, November 20, 2009 at the funeral home.
