Two injured in crash
A collision between two vehicles along State Highway 198 near Malakoff injured at least two people. Emergency personnel work to extract Ricky Davis from his 2002 Chevy Blazer after it rolled onto its side. Both his condition and the condition of the other driver were not available at press time. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening. It is believed there were no fatalities in the accident.

Church construction continues
Above, the Rev. Leon Wallace of Faith Church views the base of the steeple which was salvaged after his church was one of three in Athens which fell victim to arsonists in January. The steeple sits in front of a new church building being constructed by Cooper Plastering. The new building is estimated to have a worth of about $500,000 when completed.

What a person needs to do at FM 1616 is not rocket science
Over the past several weeks there have been a couple of wrecks at the Farm-to-Market 1616 and Loop 7 intersection. I just don’t understand it. How can you have a wreck at an intersection that is plenty wide, with warning signs all around it?
