Robert Glenn Wilson, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 8 a.m. in Houma, LA.
He was born in Athens January 19, 1931 to the late Roy C. Wilson and Francis McCool. He is survived by his wife Gloria Matherne Wilson of the home in Raceland, LA., Tracy Wilson, Crystal Beach, and Bobbie Sue Mock, of Boynton Beach, FL.
He is survived by one brother, Jerry Wilson of Dallas, five sisters, Laverne Ford, Seven Points, Annette Tramell, Norma O’Neal, Nancy Smith, and Betty Hollowell, all of Athens.
Preceeding him in death, besides his parents were two brothers, the late Calvin Wilson of Longview and Johnny Wilson of Dallas and one grandchild, Leonard Wilson of LA.
He is survived by 10 grandchildren and four great granchildren.
Robert attended school in Athens and worked as a young man at the Athens Candy Kitchen. Entering the Army at a very young age he was soon sent home when they learned how old he really was.
He was retired from Western Union and was a former resident of Rice, before moving to Raceland, LA. a few years ago.
Besides those mentioned, he leaves behind a host of friends and relatives in the Athens area.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. Services will be at Falgout Funeral Home, 3838 Highway 1, Raceland, LA. on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Rogers Cemetary, Bayou Blue, LA. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Friday at the funeral home. Falgout funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
