Athens — Services for Ardie Elvin Thomas, 88, of Ore City will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Crescent Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Gurley officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 19.

Ardie Elvin Thomas died on Thursday, June 17, 2010 in Longview. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Robinson, Tommy Thompson, Jr., Michael Suber and Scott Thompson.

Services are under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.

Mr. Thompson was born Dec. 25, 1921 in Hamilton. His parents are the late Wylie Thompson and the late Littie Mundy Thompson.

He was a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church, and was employed by Lone Star Gas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from Aug. 28, 1942 until Jan. 5, 1946.

He is survived by: his wife, Lois Thompson; two sons, Tommy and wife Sondra Thompson, Bradley Scott and wife Sonye Thompson; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by: parents Wylie and Littie Thompson; three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Thompson will be buried in Williams Cemetery.
