Walmart supercenter robbed Thursday night

PALESTINE — At least two male suspects robbed the Walmart Supercenter in Palestine at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to witnesses, the suspects fired shots inside the store before leaving with an unknown amount of cash.

A Walmart employee was pushed to the ground by the suspects but not injured. No one else inside the store was injured, according to witnesses.

One suspect was apprehended by law enforcement near an apartment complex on Old Elkhart Road shortly after the robbery. Law enforcement officials were still looking for the second suspect in the robbery as of midnight.

A store employee who answered the phone at Walmart at 12:15 a.m. Friday said the store was closed to the public as police  conducted their investigation. She did not know what time the store would reopen.
