Tyler — Gunfire in Tyler has left a landlord dead and and her tenant wounded in what police are investigating as a murder and then an attempted suicide.
Officer Don Martin had no immediate updates Wednesday on the suspect, 47-year-old Alice Aguilar, who was transported to East Texas Medical Center in critical condition. A spokeswoman for ETMC told The Associated Press that patient information questions should be directed to Tyler police.
Police on Tuesday afternoon received a call of shots fired at a multi-apartment residence and discovered the body of 70-year-old Socorro Nunez in one unit.
Martin says Aguilar was found unconscious, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, in another unit.
Police are investigating what led to the shootings and whether financial problems were involved.
