This kid wants to wash your car — all by himself

‘One-man car wash’ set for this Saturday at FBC Malakoff

MALAKOFF — Grant Parker is ready to do whatever it takes to fulfill the Great Commission.

Even if that means washing a bunch of vehicles by himself.

Parker, a 16-year-old member of First Baptist Church of Malakoff, is holding a “one-man car wash” at the church this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at 220 West Mitcham Street in Malakoff.

There is no set cost for having a vehicle washed, as Parker is taking donations only. He is hoping to raise $2,000 to be used for an internship with NEXT Worldwide.

NEXT is a missions organization that aims to train and then send youths across the globe to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Parker applied for an internship and was chosen after going on a mission trip to New Orleans through NEXT in the spring of 2012.

“I’ll be leading other teens to be bold in their faith and teaching them how to spread the gospel,” said Parker, who has visited Malawi, Africa, twice on mission trips with his church. “My goal is to help train other youth to do as the Great Commission says by making disciples of all nations.”
