Splash Pad goal reaches midway point

ATHENS — The Athens Splash Pad project being planned for Kiwanis Park hit a milestone Friday when funds raised and donated passed the halfway point. To date, about $104,000 has been raised.

The splash pad, a joint effort between the Athens Chamber of Commerce, the Athens Leadership Institute and the Athens Kiwanis Club, carries a total price tag of $200,000.
